NOVA Expectant Mom Connection

A supportive, time-limited group series led by an experienced mom of two and clinical psychotherapist. Designed for first-time moms* in Northern Virginia, the group offers space to process the transition to parenthood and build community during the pregnancy, surrogacy, or adoption period.

Format:

  • Six virtual, 60-minute group sessions

  • Two local in-person meet-ups (one with partners), scheduled with group input

  • Limited to eight expectant moms for intimacy and group cohesion

Topics include:

  • Identity shift from individual to parent

  • Holistic self-care (body, mind, rest, nutrition)

  • Back-to-work / stay-at-home transitions

  • Re-parenting & relationship changes within family of origin

  • Community resources once baby arrives (PACE, pelvic floor PT, pediatric practices, childcare, parent + me classes, etc.)

*At this time, groups are open to individuals identifying as female to provide safety and reciprocal dialogue for pregnant participants. Expectant father, non-birth parent, and gender-inclusive parenting sessions are in development—please reach out for updates.
